“Visions Underground” showcases the park’s own historic collection of photography and works of art in other media, contrasting the historic collection with works of art by contemporary artists working at the park today.

This important collection features works by the photographer Ansel Adams, along with paintings by Will Shuster, who first painted the caverns in 1924.

A new book by Lois Manno is also available, which describes the history of artists and photographers at Carlsbad Caverns National Park since 1900. The 192-page, full-color book contains many images from the park’s collection and from other sources as well.
