“Visions Underground” showcases the park’s own historic collection of photography and works of art in other media, contrasting the historic collection with works of art by contemporary artists working at the park today.

This important collection features works by the photographer Ansel Adams, along with paintings by Will Shuster, who first painted the caverns in 1924.

• The 500 square-foot main exhibit in the Carlsbad Caverns
Visitor Center features both historic and contemporary works of art

• A separate area features the work of photographer Ansel Adams and other important black & white photographs taken at the Caverns

A new book by Lois Manno is also available, which describes the history of artists and photographers at Carlsbad Caverns National Park since 1900.
