“Underground Visions” will showcase the park’s own historic collection of photography and works of art in other media, contrasting the historic collection with works of art by contemporary artists working at the park today.

This important collection features works by the photographer Ansel Adams, along with paintings by Will Shuster, who first painted the caverns in 1924.

This Multi-Media Celebration of the Art
of Carlsbad Caverns
Will Include:

• The main exhibit in the Carlsbad Caverns
Visitor Center, featuring both historic and contemporary works of art

• A traveling exhibit that will contain examples of the main exhibit, to be installed in other parks and educational facilities nationally

• A professionally-produced documentary DVD that combines archival and contemporary film footage of the cavern with still shots of the exhibit artwork. The video will include a bi-lingual narrative and original music composed for the documentary.
